Goethe chandelier

A flight of fancy materialised as a light sculpture, the Goethe chandelier is inspired by the colourful universe of candies and the similarities that sugar and sand share in the making process. Designed by Savvas Laz, Enrico Pietra, Maximilian Maetrens and Mauro Martinho and made by the Swiss-based glassblower Matteo Gonet, the chandelier is composed of a wide variety of separate elements to illustrate the different techniques that only expert glassblowers can master. The tubular forms interlock with a metal structure to create a unique installation that shines through as a perfect celebration of creativity and craftsmanship. The project was part of the Master of Advanced Studies in Design for Luxury and Craftsmanship of ÉCAL.
